MCFD holds responsibility for the government’s child care programs and services including the Child Care Grants and policy development relating to child care in BC. This site has links to related child care resources the government has responsibility for.

Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) – Children with Special Needs
Raising a child or youth with special needs brings joys and challenges. In order to assist and support families and children and youth with special needs from birth up to age 19, the Ministry of Children and Family Development offers a range of services.

Child Care Subsidy
The Child Care Subsidy is a monthly payment that helps British Columbia families meet the costs of child care. A calculation that takes into account your income and family size determines eligibility.

The Community Care Licensing Branch
The Community Care Licensing Branch is part of the Population and Public Health Division of the Ministry of Healthy Living and Sport, and is responsible for the development and implementation of legislation, policy, and guidelines to protect the health and safety of people being cared for in licensed facilities.
